Unusual hotel in the mountains of Nuwara Eliya

And here we are again at our beloved Sri Lanka, once again enjoying a wonderful climate, friendly and smiling people, all that surrounds us here. On this trip we decided little more time to devote mountains of Nuwara Eliya, the beauty of the Alpine landscape leaves no chance to remain indifferent. On our journey we’ll write a detailed review on the forum, and now I want to tell you about the hotel “Heritance Tea Factory”.

Perhaps the most unusual hotel I’ve ever seen before, ranging from location and to the interior decoration. The day we moved into this wonderful place was filled with beautiful views of the mountains, the many blossoming flowers and trees. It would seem that we already difficult to surprise, but when at the entrance to the hotel we began to climb the mountain and we were surrounded by stunning views of tea plantations, snooze, nalivshiysya after a busy day, vanished. Surrounded by the lace from the tea bushes we saw the factory building, as it turned out, the hotel “Heritance Tea Factory”. On arrival we had a mini-ceremony of marking on the forehead the yellow dots – Tilak, treated appropriate to this rite sweets with real, fresh, strong, fragrant tea.

Looking around, we felt magically transported to the 19th century, the world of TEA: the scales to weigh in factories tea leaf samples of different varieties of tea, the furniture, the stove similar to stoves (horosego pretty cool), flywheels, huge wheels and some mechanisms for the production of tea, antique, completely intact, lift, walls with metal studs, antique lamps. Our room was also pleased and surprised, combining colonial style and modern facilities.

From the Windows did not want to retreat, so stunningly beautiful around on the table generously filled with the freshest strawberries basket, whipped cream and 10 minutes later brought us a tray of miniature tartlets with various fillings, as it turned out, very tasty! However, as elsewhere in Nuwara Eliya, it is quite cool, well, that in the room heaters work great, and in the closet just in case are extra warm blankets. Since the hotel is located on the top, the wind all night howling at all voices, which further allowed us to experience the identity of “Heritance Tea Factory”.

The hotel made a lasting impression on us, were allowed to return to the past, to plunge into the atmosphere of real romance – a wonderful oasis in the mountains of Sri Lanka!
